U2When U2 decided to webcast one of their US dates, they approached their web site hosting partner, Tiscali, who approached RealNetworks. RealNetworks turned to the team responsible for many of their biggest events - LUX Media. We provided five video streams and a 360-degree BeHere camera feed with dual redundancy based on satellite and IP delivery. The audio quality LUX provided was impressive enough to get the "thumbs up" from U2 guitarist The Edge. In addition to the live event, we produced mini-documentaries that included footage of fans and the crew leading up to the broadcast. The event was voted Yahoo Internet Life's "Best Webcast of 2001." ACLULUX Media 501 regularly broadcasts the ACLU's "Web Chats" series. These are relatively informal audio-only broadcasts where ACLU staff members speak with featured guests and solicit questions from the audience via email. These events are broadcast from the LUX Media 501 offices by calling into a conference call bridge. Hundreds of people regularly attend these events during the live broadcast, with hundreds more listening to the archived files George Mason UniversityGMU relies on the LUX Media 501 server array for their larger scale broadcasts. They regularly broadcast government meetings across the Internet to the LUX Media servers, where they are then distributed to the online audience. GMU takes care of all their own production - we merely provide the server horsepower. |
